The HIPAA Academy Evaluation Program is designed to address the ability for application software vendors, hosting service or your enterprise information infrastructure to meet the requirements of the HIPAA Security regulation.
The HIPAA Academy does not certify your product or infrastructure, but what it does do is evaluate your product or your digital environment to determine what HIPAA Security Rule capabilities your solution supports and which ones may be lacking. You are provided with a detailed report of gaps in capabilities of your product solution or enterprise infrastructure from a compliance perspective. These can then be priorities that you establish to achieve full compliance with the HIPAA Security legislation.
The first step in the HIPAA Academy Evaluation Program consists of gap analysis that is performed at your site to compare the scope of current processes and procedures within the application/product solution or your information infrastructure/hosting service against those defined in the regulations. A detailed document addressing the compliance issues is provided as the deliverable.
To receive the HIPAA Academy Evaluation seal, a second evaluation will be required to review all areas that did not meet the regulations within the first evaluation. Once the requirements of the regulations are met and at least one member of the organization has attended the 4-day CHP and CHSS™ bootcamp, the seal of HIPAA Academy Evaluation Program will be awarded. At that time, your organization will be authorized to use the HIPAA Academy Evaluation seal. |
