Certified HIPAA Administrator™ (CHA)

CHA certificates issued for tests taken after October 1, 2002 are granted perpetual certification.
Individuals certified as CHA who passed the test prior to October 1, 2002 are required to retake and pass the examination in order to retain certification.

CHP certificates issued for tests taken after June 20, 2003 are granted perpetual certification.
Individuals certified as CHP who passed the test prior to June 20, 2003 are required to retake and pass the examination in order to retain certification.

CHSS certificates issued for tests taken after June 20, 2003 are granted perpetual certification.
Individuals certified as CHSS who passed the test prior to June 20, 2003 are required to retake and pass the examination in order to retain certification.

October 1, 2002 was the date the final Privacy Rule modifications were reflected in the exam. These changes to Privacy are significant enough to require earlier test-takers to recertify.
On June 20, 2003 the final Security Rule modifications were reflected in the CHP and CHSS exams. The Security Rule was essentially rewritten when the final version was published. This is significant enough to require earlier test-takers to recertify.
