HIPAA Certification Training:Certified HIPAA Professional(CHP)

  1. What is the prerequisite for CHA™ course?
    There is no prerequisite for this course. CHA™ is a subset of CHP certification which is level 1 of HIPAA Certification. No other educational qualifications required. If you plan to pursue CHP then you should not take CHA™ certification and move directly for CHP.

  2. Who is the target audience for CHA™ certification?
    1. Administrators of medical providers
    2. Key senior level employees in health care providers
    3. Nurses
    4. Key senior managers in any organization that handles healthcare data.
    5. Healthcare senior executives
    6. Healthcare service bureau executives
    7. Chief Information Officers of covered entities
    8. Insurance company senior executives
    9. Business Associates to covered entities

  3. What is the difference between CHA™ and CHP certification?
    The CHA training provides a high level overview of the requirements and impact of HIPAA legislation and regulations on any organization that retains personal health information. The CHA course examines the impact on patients, providers, and payment services. It also presents a high level overview of the HIPAA security legislation and clarifies the impact of those regulations on data processing. The CHP course a much more in depth presentation of the details of both HIPAA Privacy and Security legislation. The CHP delves into the details of the new standard transaction sets, the required privacy documents, and other requirements necessary to become HIPAA compliant.

  4. How can I study for my certification?
    You can prepare for your certification in three different ways:
    1. Instructor led Training. Cost $500 (Exam fees does not included)
    2. Online Courses. $285 (Exam fees does not included)
    3. Self study through CHA™ certification study kit $595 (Exam fees included)

  5. My busy schedule does not allow me to attend CHA™ instructor led training. How can I prepare for the CHA™ exam?
    You should buy the self study CHA™ certification kit from the HIPAA Academy. This is the same study material used in the instructor led training.

  6. What is the cost of CHA™ exam?
    $495 per exam.

  7. Where can I take the CHA™ exam?
    The exam is available online. You can take this test from any where at anytime. For more information, please visit here.

  8. How can I buy CHA™ exam voucher?
    There is no exam voucher available for CHA™ test. You will have to pay by credit card when you take the test.

  9. What is the exam retake policy for CHA™ exam?
    If the candidate does not pass the CHA™ certification examination, he or she may register to take the certification examination online at a discount of $100.

  10. How can I register for CHA™ instructor led training?
    You can register by paying through credit card online by visiting our e-store. Click here to Register. To pay through check, download the fax form and send it with the check. It is advisable to fax the form on 515.453.8471 so that a seat is reserved till the payment is received.

  11. How can I receive study material for instructor led training of CHA™ before the class?
    After we receive your paid registration, we will send you CHA™ study kit for the class so you can prepare for the training. The kit is sent to you based on shipping method selected by you.

  12. After passing the CHA™ exam when will I receive the certification after I pass the certification test?
    The certificate will be sent to you by the HIPAA Academy. If it is not received in within 4 weeks of passing the exam, then please contact Sunny.Chng@ecfirst.com.

  13. Do I need to renew my certification?
    You are not required to renew the CHA™ certification if you have taken the test after October 1, 2002 it will be valid forever. If you have taken test before October 1, 2002 you are required to retake the test.

  15. Do I need Certified HIPAA Professional (CHP) certification?

  16. Do I need CHSS™ certification?
    CHP is level 1 of HIPAA Certification. You can pursue CHSS™ certification, if you have Information technology OR Security OR technical background. If you are part of the security compliance team or if you are trying to help your client with HIPAA Security compliance, you should pursue CHSS™ certification.

  17. How will this certification help me in finding job?
    Certification in HIPAA regulations can provide a distinguishing factor for potential employer selection of employees.

  18. How will this certification enhance my skills?
    Comprehensive training and certification in the HIPAA regulations provides a solid foundation to quickly identify potential violations of HIPAA regulations and a solid knowledge of how to correct problems.
